We decided to do this blog because we feel that the world today is so busy and fast-paced that sometimes we all forget to take a step back and be aware of our present and enjoy the moment. Living a healthy lifestyle is not an easy task, as we are constantly battling with time and getting as much done as possible in a day. But surely, you can always dedicate an hour a day for a good workout – and one hour is more than enough if it is the right type of exercise!
At Ginger & Co, we believe that a healthy lifestyle is a combination of various different things. You must eat well, exercise well and also rest well. And with the world today being so fast-paced, what better exercise to turn to than yoga to calm your nerves and help you focus on the present and freeing your mind.
Yoga is no longer just a type of exercise, it has become a culture that brings a whole community together to practice the art of mindfulness and peace. There is something very captivating about yoga practices in the sense that it teaches you to coordinate your body and your mind – joining them as one. It is almost like it is teaching you to have control over each and every single part of your body, so that your mind can be at peace.
We have picked out some of our favourite yoga venues in Melbourne that combines both quality yoga classes and unique community culture.
Melbourne CBD & Prahran
Spot-on interior, experienced instructors, and an authentic yoga ambience can all be found at KAYA Healthclub. It is difficult not to fall in love KAYA after you have entered the venue. They offer a variety of different type of yoga classes which includes Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra and even meditation. So whichever kind of yogie you are, you’ll fit in just fine at KAYA. Apart from the amazing yoga classes, KAYA just recently opened their own Espresso Bar at their Prahran branch – so remember to check it out on your next visit!
Melbourne Club: Emporium | Lv 5 – 287 Lonsdale St, Melbourne
Prahran Club: Pran Central Shopping Centre | 325 Chapel St, Prahran 3181
Situated in the heart of Prahran, Humming Puppy is another yoga venue worth looking into. We can all agree that their space is designed to truly give that calming and soothing sensation – like you have entered the world of peace. Humming Puppy’s focus is mainly on meditation and traditional yoga practices that not only strengthens your body, but also your mind.
Good Vibes Yoga
62 Easey St, Collingwood
is known for being one of the most niche and hipster suburbs in Melbourne, and we can’t say how much we agree with this. Good Vibes Yoga is probably one of the prettiest and stylish yoga studios in Melbourne. In terms of their yoga practices, Good Vibes Yoga is all about mindfulness and advanced poses combined. Teaching the art of being present while practicing difficult yoga poses – but fear not, all levels are welcomed!
